Women experiencing sexual side effects when being treated for breast cancer or other gynecological cancers like ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, bladder cancer or colorectal cancers. These side effects include damage to the ovaries causes permanent or temporary infertility, irregular menstrual periods, a sudden loss of estrogen production causes the menopause, hot flashes, vaginal dryness and experience pain and discomfort during intercourse.

Other important side effects of chemotherapy is the feeling of sexuality. While some people experiencedesire increased for sexual activity, others have greatly reduced sexual desire. The most important reason for this is physical and emotional stress that people experience while going through chemotherapy. Hormonal changes also play an important role in causing psychological disorders to sexuality. Pregnancy is not recommended while undergoing chemotherapy because many anti-cancer drugs known to cause defects in embryonic development.
