Prostate Cancer And Masturbation

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States that resulted in the deaths of more than 30,000 people each year. Millions of dollars are spent each year to develop innovative therapies and medicines for the treatment of prostate cancer. Several treatment options available for prostate cancer include radiation therapy using high-powered X-rays or radioactive seed implants, hormone therapy using agonists such as leuprolide, goserelin, flutamide, and ketoconazole, chemotherapy uses anti-cancer agents, prostatectomy and cryotherapy.
However, a recent study in Australia has proven that masturbation routine or activity that causes ejaculation of sperm and semen can significantly reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. Masturbation is an act of self-indulgence of the most common by males during puberty and adolescence. Per the study, the risk of prostate cancer is minimal in men who are in their twenties and ejaculated more than five times per week. Studying in Australia has been led by Professor Graham Giles. A similar study conducted in the United States under the guidance of Professor Michael Leitzmann. The results support the findings of the Australian team. Per the study, with each increased 3 ejaculations per week, the risk of prostate cancer decreased by 15 percent.
According to the researchers, frequent ejaculation prevents carcinogens from getting concentrated in the gland. The concentration of components such as potassium, zinc, fructose and citric acid is 600 times higher in prostatic fluid than in blood. At these concentrations, these components can cause significant damage to cells lining the wall of the prostate gland. Frequent flushing through masturbation helps get rid of the glands in this component. In addition, with each ejaculation, prostate cells get rejuvenated and better equipped to fight infection and malignancy.
However, a similar effect can not be expected from a sexual relationship with many couples often because of the possibility of contracting sexually transmitted infections that may increase cancer risk.
