The diagnosis of mesothelioma

Because mesothelioma is a cancer which has developed in the membrane, developed more often than not spread as a form of cancer, not as a single mass, or tumor. A number of small tumors scattered throughout the mesothelium membrane is much more difficult to detect by medical imaging devices from a single tumor. On the grounds of X-rays, CT and MRI scans are generally not sufficient for the diagnosis of mesothelioma.

The most common form of the disease that almost always lead to pleural effusions or excessive accumulation of fluid, as the most important developing symptoms once the disease has begun to advance. Once this condition was found, doctors extract some liquid with a surgical needle to the content of the cells to analyze in the laboratory. Normally, extracting a small piece of tissue mesothelial cells also carried out abiopsy . The analysis of these samples will suspend a rule malignant cell.

A similar approach was often with peritoneal mesothelioma, which usually causes build up of fluid collected from the abdominal cavity. Tissue samples from the abdominal wall with the laparoscope was extracted by using liquid samples for the presence of malignant cells. Analysis of renal and hepatic proteinlevels may help to remove other possible causes of the signs.
